Appalachian Trail -

Magic Mom

We headed out early from our stealth spot at Black Horse Gap, on the side of the Blue Ridge Parkway. We are really excited to get into Daleville and get to meet Hiker Mom!

We finished our 13.6 mile day by 2pm and headed to Roanoke to meet Hiker Mom! Buddy loves getting to meet people that follow our trip on trail journals and Facebook. Upon arriving Karen, Hiker Mom, gave us a tour of her incredible home, and showed us the finished basement we were staying in.

Karen made us feel so at home, her and her husband are so incredibly nice. We all decided we wanted to do as little as possible for the rest of the day. We grilled, watched The Lion King and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, and vegged on the couch. We had a great night sleep and are repeating our plan of nothingness today! So far we’ve had eggs and tons of bacon, watched The Wizard Of Oz and Harry Potter, and plan on going into town for some shopping then going to the play ground. It’s been a great day off, we are so thankful to Hiker Mom for her kindness, and for having us here!
