After an amazing time at Tiggers Tree House we are off to find our next adventure. We are going a little over 10 miles today to the Trapper John Shelter. Tonight we are staying with new friends Cash, Boo Boo and the Pilot as well as Little SAS and Kokapelli. Kokapelli is is a fertility deity, usually depicted as a humpbacked flute player in Native American culture. Our Kokapelli carries a wooden flute with him and plays it often at camp before bed. Christian always sits very close and watches how he plays it, he just loves anything that makes music.
In the morning we woke up and were able to stop by The Ice Cream Man’s house. Bill Ackerly is listed in the AT guide book as a must stop for all thru hikers. He has ice cream and soda, as well as a botchy corse set up in his back yard for thru hikers to enjoy. Unfortunately when we arrived he was not there, but he had left a nice note on one of the chairs for Christian because he heard we were close and knew we would be stopping off for some ice cream for breakfast! Thank you so much Mr. Ackerly for your amazing kindness to hikers, it is greatly appreciated!
We are heading out for another long day, only 12.4 miles but a big climb in the middle of the day will ensure a full day of hiking!
