There is nothing better in life than a great friend! We are so thankful for everyone we’ve met along the way, but every once in a while someone comes along and really steals your heart. For Buddy right now that is a little girl named Cali. She’s 6 and lives just outside the Cajon Pass, Buddy has been counting the miles until we arrive here. After our last post went up I went to sleep feeling rejuvenated from our unexpected zero and thrilled with our new purchases from REI. We all have new socks, we returned our stove and are now...

The weather has been cooler and the views are more amazing with every day that passes along the trail. While the AT has many parts that seem to make you question, "Is this seriously the trail, straight up there with not one switchback?" We were able to get down to kickoff and then right back to where we left off on the side of the road a few days earlier. Kickoff was kind of washed out with the never ending rain but the presentations were cool and we met a lot of really great people. I have yet to find something that makes me as happy as life on the PCT. Everyday is a new adventure, the weather is amazing and honestly I’ve never met such amazing people. When we last left off on our adventure we were at Mikes house with Tom and Kushy. What a great time we had there, Kushy does a good job care-taking the place and really makes time spent there worth the time off the trail. As usual we were the last ones to leave in the morning. But when we did, we headed out for a beautiful day of easy hiking....

Well here we are again, in hiker paradise. I write to you from Mike Hererra's at mile 127.3 which is amazing. We just said yesterday that we need to keep going, but maybe what we actually need is to slow down and enjoy it all. It’s our plan to get a ride from Ziggy and the Bear’s down to Kick Off, if we hike past there our chances of getting a ride is largely diminished. So to get there no later or earlier than Wednesday we need to average 13 miles per day, it’s 56 miles from here. We came from...
