We headed out from South Lake in the afternoon, only getting in 6 miles that first day. Our pace slowed down a little bit in this section, the terrain wasn’t too difficult but we did have some bad weather. It got pretty cold during the day and anytime it would start to rain, we slowed down a bit. The weather has been cooler and the views are more amazing with every day that passes along the trail.While the AT has many parts that seem to make you question, "Is this seriously the trail, straight up there with not one switchback?" The PCT is just the opposite, long stretches of heavenly switchbacks that seem to go on forever before you reach your final destination. As some of you may have seen two days ago we experienced a truly life changing event. I witnessed a motorcyclist hit head on into an RV and die on impact. We tried our best to save this man from the flames that were engulfing his bike within seconds but we were unable to do so. I will never forget this event, I just hope to find peace with what happened and know that we did all we could. We will keep this man in our thoughts and hearts as we continue our journey along the trail. We have taken...

I have yet to find something that makes me as happy as life on the PCT. Everyday is a new adventure, the weather is amazing and honestly I’ve never met such amazing people. When we last left off on our adventure we were at Mikes house with Tom and Kushy. What a great time we had there, Kushy does a fantastic job care-taking the place and really makes time spent there worth the time off the trail.
